For iPhone, iPad & Mac
OneTwo Markdown shows you how your text will look while you write: Markdown on one side, the rendered preview right next to it. Real .md files, no account, no subscription, no AI.
Four tools that run entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server. The editor is a browser demo; rendering in the app may differ in detail. Everything here is a simplified simulation, not a view of the app itself. The buttons for saving, HTML and printing exist only in the demo.
Write in the editor, select text and use the toolbar. The preview follows instantly.
Tip: As in the Mac app, Enter in a list continues the list, Cmd/Ctrl+B makes text bold, Cmd/Ctrl+I italic. Your input stays in the browser.
Pick an element and see what you type and what it becomes. One click puts the example into the live editor.
Paste cells from Excel, Numbers or a CSV file here and get a Markdown table. In the app you pick rows and columns in the table dialog instead.
Like in the app: the characters \, *, _, ` and ~ are protected with a backslash, so they appear as normal characters and format nothing. In the app the command works on the selected text. Paste Markdown and copy the result.
A calm, fast editor that does the right thing on every device.
Your Markdown text on one side, the finished layout right next to it. On iPad you drag the divider wherever you need the space. On iPhone one tap switches between editor and preview, where you can also switch to the HTML source. Line numbers and a column ruler help in the editor.
Headings, bold, italic, strikethrough, lists, task lists, quote, code, horizontal rule, link and image, all in one toolbar.
The table builder sets rows and columns, the emoji picker sits right in the editor. “Neutralize Markdown” protects special characters such as * and _ in the selected text with a backslash so they format nothing.
Find and replace in a document, plus full-text search across the names and content of all documents.
Open existing .md files and save them right back where they came from. Your README stays your README.
Print from the rendered preview, save as PDF from the print dialog or share as a Markdown file. On the Mac you can also export as Markdown, HTML or PDF.
Color tags, a filter bar and pinned documents, several documents open in tabs. Tags and filters are the same on all devices.
Lock individual documents with Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode, on the Mac with Touch ID or password. Locked documents show no content, no preview and no content matches in search.
Widgets on iPhone, iPad and Mac. Nine color themes on iPhone and iPad, light and dark, plus Dynamic Type, VoiceOver, English and German.
Requirements: iOS and iPadOS 18 or later, macOS 15 or later. There is no version for Apple Watch, Apple TV or Apple Vision Pro.
The Mac version is a native app of its own, not a scaled-up iPad interface.
The app has two ways of working: the library, which syncs through iCloud, and file mode. In file mode you edit a Markdown file where it is stored, without copying it into the library. “Import” creates a copy in the library, “Export” writes a copy as a file.
Open .md and .markdown files from the Files app. On the Mac by double-click, “Open With” or drag & drop.
You edit the file with a live preview. The README in your project folder stays the README in your project folder.
Save writes straight back to the connected file. On the Mac there is also “Save As” and “Save All”. If another program changes the file, the app silently reloads it. Only with unsaved changes does it ask which version should win.
Documents, color tags and filters stay the same on all devices through your private iCloud: start the draft on the train on your iPhone, finish it on the Mac in the evening. If another device changed a document you are editing, the app reports the conflict and you decide. A simplified simulation:
# Release Notes 1.2 New: Live preview
# Release Notes 1.2 (final) New: Live preview and export
You turn iCloud sync on or off per device (Settings › iCloud). Without iCloud the app works fully locally.
The app shows what was synced, what is still pending and whether there are conflicts or errors. At the press of a button it restarts the sync.
On first launch the app asks once whether to use iCloud.
The app collects no data.
No AI reading your texts and no connections to third-party servers.
Sync runs only through your own iCloud. Without iCloud everything works the same, just on one device.
Everything else is in the privacy policy.
One-time · No subscription · No in-app purchases
You pay once and use the app on all devices without ongoing costs. The price in the App Store at launch applies.
